Project 365 Takes on the Penguin Plunge

My mom went home a few days back, and I'm missing her like crazy. However, things haven't slowed down a bit. My exciting news for this past week--I took on the Penguin Plunge and kicked its butt!

For those of you who don't know, that means I ran into an ice-covered lake for a great cause, Special Olympics CT. Yes, you can call me crazy. But before you do, check out this past week's pictures.

Day 242: I'm sexy, and I know it. ;)

Day 243: I'm crazy, and I know it.

Day 244: Momma and I were both sad about her leaving, so we painted her nails to look like a party.

Day 245: Missing my mom, so I holed up and played Ascension. I got really good after playing it for four or so hours.

Day 246: Check out all the fresh produce, bread, and candy we got in for the food pantry's spring drive! I couldn't be more excited!

Day 247: I gave my amazing office mate the painting I promised her. She noticed the Chinese styling mixed with the acrylics right away, just like I knew she would.

Day 248: So I never noticed the fire station in my town is named Niagara. Thought this was pretty cool.

Day 249: Tori and me after too much sangria. We are super cuties.

And that sums up this past week. Can't wait to post more pictures next time. See you then!

Project 365 Welcomes Mom to CT

By far, this has been one of the best week's I've spent in CT. FINALLY, my mom got to come see my home, and since she's been here, we've had nonstop fun. Enjoy the pictures!

Day 234: Dinner with Joe who'd just gotten his wisdom teeth pulled. No fun! But Chinese food makes everything better (except when your mouth hits the wrong part of the Crab Rangoon).

Day 235: Playing dress up with Jenn and Mel. I can't wait until my hair is longer!

Day 236: Coffee with Tori. In celebration of St. Patty's Day, they gave me a 4-leaf clover.

Day 237: Pretty sure the good luck coffee from yesterday paid off. Look who got her birthday present (and even luckier, look who I got to hold close).

Day 238: Picking Mommy up from Providence! LOVE THIS WOMAN!

Day 239: Selfie before I took my mom to work and introduced her to lots of people there.

 Day 240: Moo cat! <3

Day 241: Inside the Herb House at Logee's, which you have to see to believe. This was my favorite part of the huge arboretum.

And that finishes up this past week! Expect more mommy/daughter shots next time. I'm trying to convince my mom to quit her job and stay up here. But all good things come to those who wait. One day we'll have houses close together.

See you next week!

Project 365 Celebrates Dr. Seuss's Birthday

Now that I'm so far into Project 365, I can't imagine my life without documenting it through photography. For anyone who's looking to take on a monumental project, I highly suggest this one. It will change the way you look at your life. I know I treasure each day more than ever before.

Enjoy this week's pictures!

Day 227: It's been a couple of months since I last bled all over my apartment. I had to remedy that, natch. ;)

Day 228: My parents give me hope that soulmates do exist. <3

Day 229: I'm obsessed with the card game Ascension. 9 out of 10 times I win, but this was a pretty epic score.

Day 230: Celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday! We had over 200 people in attendance.

Day 231: The weather warmed up enough for me to put on short sleeves. I'm one happy girl.

Day 232: I finished my painting. It's dedicated to all the beautiful, dark-haired women out there. Thank you for inspiring me.

Day 233: And here's Kimberly, one of my inspiring, dark-haired beauties now. (I guessed her favorite wine on the first try.)

And that's it for this week's photos. I'm super excited for next week's post. After all, I'll be celebrating St. Patty's Day (my half-birthday) and welcoming my mommy to my home in CT.

See you then!

Project 365 Waits for Spring

Will winter ever end? I'm so ready for the cold to decide it's done with us. Next week, my mom comes into town though, which will make all the flowers bloom. Until then, I'm muddling through. Check out this week's pics.

Day 220: I finally understand why people like drinking. This tastes like candy.

Day 221: Kiona interviewed me about the food pantry today.

Day 222: I only need pizza to survive.

Day 223: My favorite part of our gym regimen.

Day 224: Taking Lyci out to dinner. I'm pretty sure she's the sexiest woman on the face of the planet.

Day 225: It's cold, and I'm refusing to get out of bed.

Day 226: My one true love. Hmm, maybe I don't need pizza after all.

With good days come the bad ones (and the cold ones). I am wait listed for grad school. Definitely not the news I was hoping to hear. But I'm choosing to look at this as an opportunity to explore my life. Do you know how many things I want to do? SO many! And now I have the chance to pursue them all.

Thanks for keeping up with my blog! See you next week.
